Founded in Christchurch in 2011, Wisdom Cleaning combines relationship-led service with disciplined systems so clients get clear accountability and consistent delivery on every site. We were built for the rebuild. When Christchurch was piecing itself back together, the cleaning work demanded precision, reliability, and the ability to work alongside builders under tight handover deadlines. From the outset we positioned ourselves not simply as a cleaning provider, but as a structured service partner capable of delivering dependable outcomes in complex environments.

Those early years shaped our DNA. Tight deadlines, high standards, and coordination with multiple trades required clarity, communication, and a strong “can-do” mindset. These principles became embedded in the company: structured processes, clear accountability, quality control, and long-term relationship thinking. In practice, it means our clients know who is responsible for their site, what gets done on each visit, and what happens the moment something is not right.

Growth was system-led, not opportunistic. As capability strengthened, we expanded beyond post-construction into permanent commercial cleaning, and developed a structured network of trusted local operators — all working to the same standards, the same reporting, and the same accountability regardless of which team delivers on site. Standardised procedures, clear reporting, and consistent quality controls let us scale without compromising what our first clients hired us for.

The Fast 50 year. In our fourth year, Wisdom was recognised in the Deloitte Fast 50 — a reflection not just of revenue growth, but of the operational model and client trust that powered it. Today we serve clients across Christchurch, Auckland, and Wellington, with General Manager Michael Hershberger coordinating across all three cities and Tina Li leading Auckland operations. The foundations laid down in those early years still guide how the company grows.

Behind every system and every contract are people. Wisdom has been shaped by a diverse workforce that reflects modern New Zealand. Each group contributes distinct strengths:

Community involvement is central to who we are. Over the years we have sponsored Canterbury Rugby for eight consecutive seasons, supported the Christchurch Marathon and Le Race, assisted fundraising for Medbury School and Christchurch Cathedral, and provided post-event cleaning for the Christchurch Lantern Festival.
